Please read the following instructions carefully before solving & submitting assignment:
It should be clear that your assignment will not get any credit (zero marks) if:
o The assignment is submitted after due date.
o The submitted assignment is other than Excel file.
o The submitted assignment does NOT open or file is corrupted.
o The assignment is copied (from other student or ditto copy from handouts or internet).

Uploading instructions
o For clarity and simplicity, you are required to Upload/Submit only Excel file.

Objective
The objective of this assignment is:
o To understand the basics of Microsoft Excel
o Enable students to apply different formulas in the MS Excel

Note:
No assignment will be accepted after the due date via email in any case (whether it is the case of load shedding or internet malfunctioning etc.). Hence refrain from uploading assignment in the last hour of deadline. It is recommended to upload solution file at least two days before its closing date.

Suppose you are working as a data analyst in ABC organization. The following data is provided in the Excel file:

You are required to enter the above data (as given in Fig.1) in Excel file and then apply the formulas on the given data to find the following tasks:
• Total number of male students
• Total number of female students
• The highest obtained marks
• The lowest obtained marks
• The average obtained marks
• Total obtained marks of Male Students

Note: File other than Excel file will not be accepted. Your answer should be same as given in Fig. 1.

Simple and easy 1 

To calculate "Total number of male students"

According to the given table fromula will be as follws

=COUNTIF(C5:C24,"M")

To calculate "Total number of  Female students"

According to the given table fromula will be as follws

=COUNTIF(C5:C24,"F")

Easy

Total obtained marks of male students: =sumif(C2:E21,"M",E2:E21)

To calculate "The highest obtained marks"

According to the given table fromula will be as follws

=MAX(E5:E24)

To calculate "The lowest obtained marks"

According to the given table fromula will be as follws

=MIN(E5:E24)

To calculate "The AVERAGE obtained marks"

According to the given table foRmula will be as follws

=AVERAGE(E5:E24)

To calculate "Total obtained marks of Male Students"

According to the given table fromula will be as follws

=SUMIF(C2:C24,"M",E2:E24)
